At the completion of your game, the referee will ask a representative from each team to sign the match card. By signing the card, this means you agree with what has been recorded on it. This is your team's opportunity to review the card and check that you agree with the score and also that you agree that any red or yellow cards issued were attributed to the correct individual.
WDDOA MUST RECEIVE THE ORIGINAL MATCH CARD
What does this mean? How does WDDOA receive them?
Round Rock, TX 78665
Why is this so important?
In ALL SCENARIOS, WDDOA must receive the Original Match Card. Teams must understand that the Original Match Card is the Official Report of what happened on the field during the game - in addition to documenting the score, this Official Game Report documents yellow/red cards administered, adult ejections, club pass players, players serving suspensions, write-in violations, weather delays, signatures, and essentially anything that may have occurred during the game. Scans, copies, faxes, photos, or any other type of electronic version of the match card are often out of focus, sometimes only partially visible or copied, and usually very difficult to read.
WDDOA reviews every single match card to verify scores, verify misconduct, check for rules violations, etc.
It is recommended that both teams (usually the Team Manager) take a photocopy of the final signed match card upon completion of the game. This can serve as a backup in the situation where the match card becomes lost or damaged in some way. This photo or electronic copy should be considered a BACKUP in the case the Original Match Card becomes illegible or lost.
